Groups and Organizations The Parish Pastoral Council is a community of servant leaders. Its purpose is to assist the pastor in discerning through prayer and study how the parish can best carry out the mission of the Church of proclaiming the word, building up the Body of Christ in the community, serving those in need, and celebrating liturgy. Membership consists of 8 members including the pastor and parishioners who serve term of four (4) years, not renewable for four (4) years. When new members are needed, the council determines the process of selection/nomination/volunteering. Officers are determined by the council members. The council meets at least six (6) times a year. Pastoral Council members: Gary Brock, Frank Kripli, Betty Smith, Janet Philips, Janice Ehinger, Marie Clemens, Joe Izworski. The Parish Finance Council is a community of servant leaders whose purpose is to assist the pastor in discerning through prayer and study how best to obtain sufficient financial resources to accomplish the parish's ministries and offer oversight as to their expenditures. Membership consists of 8 or so members including the pastor, the school principal, and members of the parish knowledgeable in finances who are willing to offer their time and expertise. The council meets most months and as needed. Finance Council members: Mark Dantzer, Bill Ehinger, Adrian Dantzer, Virginia Linsenman, Lorrene Spaulding, Tom Kish. The Parish Building and Grounds Committee consists of volunteers willing to personally involve themselves in maintenance project and are knowledgeable of area contractors and resources. A group of volunteers take monthly turns to augment the cleaning of the church facility beyond the weekly basic cleaning of the carpets and pews. The parish Council of Catholic Women keeps the women of the parish informed of the workings and available programs and projects (e.g. days of recollection etc.) of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Knights of Columbus Council #2022: contact person: Harry John Kolberg at 989-345-5668. St. Vincent de Paul Society is a Catholic lay organization. Its members strive to grow in holiness by helping the poor and those in temporary need, on a person to person basis.
